The story behind the name
The name Sunny Holidays Kerala is a heartfelt tribute to my father, who was fondly known as Sunny. Among his friends, relatives, and everyone who knew him, he was affectionately called Sunnychayan.
His warmth, kindness, wonderful sense of humour, and ever-smiling face brought joy to everyone he met. His genuine love for people, generous spirit, and welcoming nature left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. When it came time to name the company, there was no better choice than Sunny Holidays Kerala. It stands as a loving remembrance of my father and reflects the values he lived by:

The journey of Sunny Holidays Kerala began with a simple houseboat enquiry from a group of old colleagues in Bangalore who were travelling to Kerala for a friend's wedding. After the celebrations, they wanted to experience the beauty of Kerala's backwaters on a traditional houseboat. We arranged the experience, and their memorable trip soon led to more enquiries from friends, family, and their colleagues.
As word spread, we expanded beyond houseboat bookings to include carefully selected resorts across Kerala's most beautiful destinations. Before long, we were arranging transportation, sightseeing, and customised itineraries, eventually offering complete holiday packages designed around each traveller's interests and preferences.
What started with a single houseboat enquiry has today grown into Sunny Holidays Kerala — a trusted travel company that has welcomed thousands of travellers from across India and around the world. Our passion remains the same: to help every guest experience the true beauty, culture, traditions, and warm hospitality of Kerala through thoughtfully planned, memorable journeys.
