Arrival & High-Altitude Trekking
Arrive via Cochin International Airport (approx. 80 km away) or Kottayam Railway Station (56 km away). Transfer to a jeep at Kanjar and navigate the winding, scenic trails leading up to Ilaveezhapoonchira (The road is rough and rocky) OR you can take Melukavu route, through which all vehicles can easily reach Ilaveezhapoonchira. You can opt for an off road Jeep Safari (Extra Charge) after reaching Ilaveezhapoonchira. Visit Muniyara Cave while doing Jeep Safari. The jeep will drop you at the closest accessible rocky clearing, from that spot, you will need to complete a short steep 800-meter walk through a scenic bamboo path to reach the actual mouth of Muniyara the cave. Check into your hilltop camp or nearby eco-cottage. Spend the evening exploring Kannadipara and watching an unforgettable sunset over the valley.
